Yu Darvish Misses Perfect Game
Yu Darvish came within 1 out of a perfect game on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He wound up with a 2 hit, 14 strikeout shutout instead. Marwin Gonzalez singled through the pitcher's legs with 2 outs in the 9th. Great start to a new season. Green Bay Packers Great Dave Robinson Makes Hall Of Fame
Dave Robinson was elected into the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday, Feb 2, 2013. Dave was the Packers #1 draft pick in 1963. He was a 3x Pro Bowl selection and was the MVP in the 1967 Pro Bowl. Dave has 2 Super Bowl rings (Super Bowls I & II). And now, Dave Robinson's NFL journey has been finally rewarded by being inducted to the Hall of Fame. Congrats Dave! Ray Lewis' Last Game - The Super Bowl
Baltimore Ravens Linebacker, Ray Lewis, will be playing in his last football game on Feb 3, 2013...The Super Bowl. It will be his 2nd appearance as he won Super Bowl MVP in 2000, his only other Super Bowl appearance. Lewis began his career in 1996. A 1st round draft pick by the Ravens. Lewis a 13x Pro Bowler, will undoubtedly go into the Hall Of Fame as soon as he is eligible. For the 1st time in Super Bowl history, 2 brothers will be head coaching against each other. Wow! What a great game to watch. The Atlanta Falcons jumped out to a 17-0 lead but the San Francisco 49ers roared back to take the lead and hold on to win. The Falcons made a close run at the end zone with less than 2 minutes to go but could not convert on a 4th down play. The 49ers will be trying for a 6th Super Bowl victory. Stan 'The Man' Musial dies
Stan Musial passed away on Jan 19, 2013 at the age of 92. Musial, considered one of the best baseball players of all time, played 22 years (all with Cardinals), won 7 batting titles, 3 NL MVP's, hit 475 homeruns, lifetime .331 average and the list goes on and on. Musial was an All-Star 24 times (2 all star games were played in 1961 & 1962). He had the exact same number of hits lifetime home & away (1815 each) for a total of 3630.
